Scoliosis help with chiropractic
Scoliosis is an unnatural, and unhealthy curvature to the spine that may be detected in the very early teen years. It can be a serious source of back pain and neck pain young people of early and late teen years.

Scoliosis typically shows early signs between the ages of 12 and 14 years old. If left untreated, scoliosis often worsens through the teen years into the early twenties. It may lead to neck pain, back pain and limited range of motion in the young patient as well as a self conscious feeling towards how their clothes fit or their general appearance.
The treatment for scoliosis in our office begins with a thorough physical exam and may include x rays. A complete review of findings will be scheduled. Should you decide to follow our recommendations, The treatment will consist of muscle balance evaluations and treatment, exercises, stretches and chiropractic adjustments as part of a complete package designed to help get the most benefit from care.
The treatment schedule for juvenile scoliosis varies, but is usually no less than 2 times per week for several months. The exact schedule will be determined after the evaluations are complete and a full report of recommendations and costs will be provided.
If detected and treated early, scoliosis may be fully or largely correctable (depending on the cause). If left untreated, it can worsen through the teen years into the early twenties and create problems for a lifetime. Even if scoliosis may be rated by visual observation as “mild,” a more complete evaluation is highly recommended. A wait and see approach or simply “hoping for the best” is not recommended with juvenile scoliosis.
Chiropractic is proven to help scoliosis in the cases that can be corrected. The first step is to call our office and schedule a thorough chiropractic evaluation and standing postural x rays to determine the cause of the scoliosis, and the extent to which it has progressed to date.
